Gold
In all ages, Zhaoyuan is known for its abundant gold deposit. At the 1000 sq.km., there are 7 fracture zones such as Zhaoping, Beiling, Huangzhaoye etc., and more than 10 gold ore fields, such as Linglong, Lingshan, Jinling, Xiadian, Yingezhuang etc. that are being deployed. Hundreds and thousands of gold veins are interlaced under Zhaoyuan City. From age to age, Zhaoyuan is always the foretype in producing of gold in China, and has been the crucial gold produtor for long. Early in the Song Dynasty, the gold product had a considerable scale and there is record of "Hundreds of gold mines, thousands ounce of gold throughput".
After P.R.C. was established, especially when China adopted the open-door policy, Zhaoyuan's gold product develops well forwardly. There are 66 gold mines, 90 gold mill factories, 2 gold prospect enterprises, 5 gold smelt factories, 1 gold refine factories, 3 gold chemical factories, over 50 gold process machine enterprises, 2 gold and silver arts process enterprises and 1 gold exchange stock of Shanghai Gold Bourse. In 2001, Zhaoyuan's annual gold throughput is over 800,000 ounce, and is 1/7 of the total gold throughput of China. In the last 50 years, Zhaoyuan has proffered over 6 million ounce gold to the country. Now the prospected gold reserve is over 300 ton, and the estimated gold reserve is over 500 ton, which is 1/10 of the total gold reserve of China. In January 2002, Zhaoyuan was named "China's Gold City" by China's Gold Association.

Longkou Vermicelli
The origin producing area of Longkou Vermicelli is Zhaoyuan. The history of vermicelli producing in Zhaoyuan is over 300 years. At the end of Min Dynasty and early Qing Dynasty, the people of Zhaoyuan began to product general vermicelli with sweet potato. When Daoguang was the emperor of Qing Dynasty, mung bean came to be the raw material of vermicelli. To promote the vermicelli market, some insightful person set up special firm for selling vermicelli. In 1894, Xudengyong, a man of Kouhouxujia Village, congregated a few of person to set up a joint venture vermicelli firm named "FuJuHao" at Nanba Street of Zhaoyuan (Now the street is named Yingbin Road.). Subsequently their posterity successively set up vermicelli firms of "JuTaiFu" and "HongTaiFu", and primarily controlled Zhaoyuan-vermicelli purchase and distribution. To develop the oversea market, they set up "HongTai" vermicelli firm in Hongkong to distribute Zhaoyuan-vermicelli to Japan, Korea and the countries of Southeast Asia. Around 1860, Zhaoyuan-vermicelli became known in the world for its perfect quality. Because Zhaoyuan-vermicelli was shipped outside from Longkou Port, since then it was called "Longkou Vermicelli". In 1934, "China's Industry Records" recorded that 60% of Zhaoyuan's farmers were busy in the vermicelli line and the products were transported to Shanghai, Ningbo, Xiamen, Hongkong, Jiulong, Singapore etc. Longkou Vermicelli was 70% of Longkou Port's total throughput at that time.
After P.R.C. was established, Longkou Vermicelli was always sold well in the oversea markets. As China being opened to the world, the product of Longkou Vermicelli are gradually collectivized. We have adopted Hi-tech to promote the quality of Longkou Vermicelli and it has been the overseas people's favorite food. The people of Zhaoyuan successively manufactured over ten variety of advanced vermicelli product machines such as vacuum vermicelli leak machine, auto blender, drier，cutter etc.. Also we adopted some advanced equipments from outside of China. For all the above, the advanced vermicelli manufacturing procedure gradually replaced the traditional procedure. Along the vermicelli manufacturing procedure of scalding mung bean, blending starch, leaking vermicelli, refrigeration, drying and cutting, all the production line is closed well to promote the grade and quality of Longkou Vermicelli, and thus makes it a perfect "Green Food". Successively Longkou Vermicelli produced in Zhaoyuan was nominated High Quality Product, Renowned Vermicelli Trademark and Green Food by organizations of domestic and abroad.
For more than 300 years, the people of Zhaoyuan keep improving the quality of Longkou Vermicelli. Now Longkou Vermicelli produced in Zhaoyuan are well-knowned in the world for its merits of thin and regular, bright and transparent, flexile, wonderful taste, keep perfect favor for long time seethe etc.. Zhaoyuan's total annual throughput of Longkou Vermicelli is 150,000 ton and the exported Longkou Vermicelli is over 80% of China's total exported vermicelli. Longkou Vermicelli is distributed to 56 countries and regions of Asia, Europe and America, and the annual proceeds of sale in foreign currency is 518 million ＄.

Red Fuji Apple
In 1980's 20th century, Zhaoyuan City took the lead in transplanting the Japanese Red Fuji Apple in China, being the biggest and best producer of Red Fuji Apple in city level. There are 39 Mu apple field in the city, which can produce 350 million kg of high equality Red Fuji Apple each year.
Zhaoyuan is excellent in physical geography. The yearly average rainfall is 650 mm. The frostless periods is about 200 days. There is enough sunlight for the growth of apple. The local soil, water and air are all unpolluted, suitable for the growth of Red Fuji Apple, a kind of nutrient green foods. On account of the above advantage, Zhaoyuan is regard as a kingdom of fruit plant.
The Red Fuji Apple produced in Zhaoyuan has characters of big size, deep red, more juice, enduring crispness, rich nutrition. In The 2th Chinese Agricultural Exposition 1995, The Red Fuji Apple of Zhaoyuan was awarded 15 items of golden medal, ranking the first in nation's city level. In The 3th Chinese Agricultural Exposition 1997, Zhaoyuan Brand Red Fuji Apple was assessed as nation's famous product. In The 4th Chinese Agricultural Exposition 2001, Zhaoyuan Brand Red Fuji Apple was assessed once more as nation's famous product.
Deep process of Apple was also much developed in Zhaoyuan. There are 5 enterprises engaging in fruit process, which own 5 international level production line, carrying out apple selecting, washing, size grading, apple pressing as well as juice packing, processing 145 million kg apple each year. 31 refrigerated warehouse were build in the city, which can storage 40 million kg apple in total, including 1 air conditioning warehouse with storage ability of 1 million kg. There are many big distribution enterprises engaging in apple collecting, buying and selling. The Red Fuji Apple of Zhaoyuan having been sold very well both at home and abroad.

Hot Spring
The hot spring of Zhaoyuan is famous in China, distributed widely in Zhaoyuan, rich in hot spring reserves. There are over 20 hot spring well servicing for visitor from all over the world now. When water cycle from ground surface to a certain depth underground, it turned hotter and hotter because of great magma heat, at last rising through structure crack from underground depth to the ground surface. The maximum temperature of natural hot spring can reach 970C. The mineralizing degree of hot spring is between 1.47g/l and 5.4 g/l. It contains over 20 mineral elements such as calcium, sodium, magnesium, iron, sulfur, chlorine, bromine, iodin, radium, radon, uranium, etc., having remarkable curative effects against rheumatism, hypertension, arthritis, dermatitis, etc. Zhaoyuan spa is a good place for your refreshment or recuperation.
